Carl J. Marlinga is an experienced trial attorney in all aspects of criminal and civil litigation. From 1984 to 2004 he was the elected prosecuting attorney for Macomb County, the third largest county in Michigan. Prior to serving as prosecutor, Carl Marlinga was a partner in the Southfield, Michigan, law firm of Bushnell, Gage, Doctoroff, and Reizen, specializing in the defense of product liability actions, but also representing plaintiffs in select personal injury lawsuits. Mr. Marlinga was an associate from 1974 to 1977 with the Detroit firm of Honigman, Miller, Schwartz, and Cohn doing business litigation and complex divorce work. Mr. Marlinga also served as a federal prosecutor as a Trial Attorney for the Justice Department's Organized Crime Strike Force and also as an Assistant United States Attorney assigned to white collar business crimes. Mr. Marlinga is a graduate of the University of Detroit, graduating summa cum laude from the Honors Program in 1968. Upon graduation from the University of Detroit, he attended the University of Michigan Law School where he was awarded a Juris Doctor degree in 1971. Carl J.
